Jo Malone London Basil & Neroli

Jo Malone London Basil & Neroli

This Spring I was invited to celebrate the launch of the new Jo Malone London Perfume Basil & Neroli, part of the celebration was to have a typically British 3 day experience. As they called it A London Lark – Lark is a very British expression used for having carefree fun. My husband and I often use it between us when were having a good time and a laugh ‘ What Larks’!

Day 1 was a dinner hosted by the Jo Malone team with beautiful floral setting and balloons everywhere. It was a great pleasure to meet Ahood AlEnzi– the popular blogger with a strong passion for perfumes. She was invited to attend from Kuwait to celebrate the launch.

Day 2 started off with a very British breakfast, we were then taken to Jo Malone’s London Head Offices to smell each scent in separate rooms and to establish an understanding of the mix of Basil and Neroli.  I can still remember how strong each room smelled and the powerful strong scents of Basil that tickled my nose.  I used the crushed Basil leaves to draw on a piece of paper – wrote ‘Happiness starts with color’. The day ended with an interview for with the head creators Celine Roux and Anne Flipo.

It was really exciting to have a shoot done by the well known fashion photographer Candice Lake – she was 9 months pregnant and all I could think was please don’t go into labour yet, we want to be photographed first…hehe

Day 3 a day at the Chelsea Flower Show, the most prestigious flower show in the world.  It has to be one of my favourite events in London and I greatly look forward to it each year.  I already had tickets to go on the weekend with my family but was pleased to attend twice as there is so much to see and one day is really not enough.

Over all the new Jo Malone London Basil & Neroli perfume told a modern, flirtatious story which associated with the City’s creativity and a beautiful London summer. The perfume is available from today 1st of September, 2016.
