I covered the Giambattista Valli show for Gheir.com – I started backstage for the make-up coverage by MAC cosmetics which was followed by the dressing and catwalk show. You can see all the images together with an interview with the lead make-up artist Var Garland on (Gheir.com).
It was a very interesting show with limited number of selected guests and models walking in zig-zag directions rather than the usual straight line catwalk. The collection had the signature ruffled gowns in vibrant shades, there was a feel of ‘cool girl’ look in some styles and the big ball gown ruffled skirt looked like the model was in a floating giant flower. Valli’s designs were a mix of ultra-exaggerated volumes, vivid colors and delicate embellished florals.
With Jessica Alba after the show and my giant camera (it was a very hot day in Paris – I am not sure how she survived in those boots)!
Backstage at the dressing room – the model was diving into the giant floating balloon skirt.
